Arts & Letters Cafe in Santa Barbara is the perfect luncheon spot. The location is off of State Street. There is the De Forest Gallery to enjoy as one walks in and a tucked away patio dinning spot in the back. It’s lights, fountain and greenery provide a romantic setting. There is seating on the front porch before the gallery but I prefer the patio because it feels like a secret garden! Chef Avery Hardin uses farmers, ranchers and vendors with local ingredients to prepare a savory menu with varied wines and a full bar selection for drinks.
This is definitely a Santa Barbara hidden treasure.
Check out my imitation Isabel Marant bracelet! I made it for under $4 dollars!
Listen, unfortunately I am a brand whore and I pretty much always prefer the real thing to the imitation. But, sometimes it is unjustifiable. Especially, when I can make it for $3.50 opposed to $115.00. Sorry Isabel. I love you but am going rogue on this one.

Coco de Mer is a cheeky lingerie boutique. One of the owners, is a Santa Barbara local and extraordinarily vibrant dear lady! I am sad to see her store close. If you missed out on the Coco de Mer boutique while it was here don’t miss out on the sale now! That would be a double shame.
I scored this beautiful black lacy and chalkboard candle in fig scent! I love the idea of a chalkboard candle with handwritten love notes customized yourself. Throw in my favorite Natalie B. ring, some peach roses, and angel food cake with fresh raspberry sauce and this makes for a perfect Santa Barbara Sunday!
After such a beautiful holiday weekend, I was really reminded of the warm Spring weather that is to come.
Here is a tasty cocktail for your next warm day:
(Recipe: from barefoot contessa “how easy is that?” ina garten)
30 large fresh mint leaves, coarsely torn by hand
3-4 thick slices of fresh watermelon
12 ounces light rum, such as Barcardi
1/2 cup simple syrup (easy to make)
6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice (3 limes)
Use a mortar and pestle to mash the mint leaves. Remove and discard the rind and seeds of the watermelon. Put the fruit into a food processor fitted with the steel blade and puree. Put the mashed mint into a large pitcher with 2 cups of pureed watermelon, the simple syrup, and lime juice and stir to combine. Pour the mixture into a pitcher for serving.
Place ice cubes in 6 glasses and pour the mojito mixture into the glasses. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint and spears of watermelon.
Serve ice cold.
