Review Overview

We especially liked the red wines at Carr.

Carr wine tasting room is off the beaten track from the majority of downtown Santa Barbara tasting rooms. However, it is located directly next to Telegraph Brewing Company‘s beer tasting room! So, it is best to plan a trip when both are open and make a real experience out of it. Unfortunately, Telegraph Brewing Company was closed when we went. They are only open for beer tasting a few days a week.  Bummed but not disappointed, we went to Carr.  It is quite a hip place to go.  There are checker board tables, shuffleboard, art work,  and oh yeah, wine!!  Tucker, our host and friend, is delightful and knowledgeable about all of the wines. If there is a question, Tucker has your answer.
In Santa Barbara, most locals are wine connoisseurs. My hubby and I have developed a system for rating. Basically it runs on a scale of 1-5.  1 being the lowest and 5 being the best.  We give those numbers out sparingly.  If we rate the wine 3 or above it is something we liked and would buy.  We usually like to pick our favorite white and our favorite red from a winery.  The 2008 Pinot Noir was our favorite at Carr. Definitely recommend  it.
