Santa Ynez Valley, Solvang Wine Tasting Weekend at the Petersen Village Inn
Our first vineyard stop was Lincourt.
Next winery was Buttonwood, where we decided to get a bottle of their 2011 Zingy. It is 100% Savignon Blanc and very refreshing white wine on a hot day. We stopped for lunch at the Greenhouse Cafe for some sandwiches and much needed food (and forgot the camera).
Solvang is extremely dog friendly! We met the cutest German Shepard along our way to Tocatto tasting room.
Our last stop was Sevtap. It is a hipsters tasting room for sure! There is live music on Friday and Saturday nights. As you can see the walls are head to toe in chalk scribblings! This tasting room has been open for about 3 years but the owner/proprietor has been in the winemaker business for over 19 years. The tasting selection was small just 5 wines, 2 whites, 2 reds, and a port. A nice selection. We decided on the 2010 Ebru from Happy Canyon- a red wine.
Stopped for a snack at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Carmel dipped pretzels rolled in nuts.
Dinner at the Petersen Village Inn was amazing!!! Hands down the best clam chowder ever tasted (if you haven’t noticed we like clam chowder- it is in like every post where we eat ). The vegetables were so flavorful, and the filet mignon was juicy and yummy!
Off to our room for the night, a sweet cottage with balcony. The best part about the Petersen Village Inn is that check out is at 1pm. So you can sleep in and enjoy Solvang a bit more before leaving.
Ending our visit and weekend, with Paula’s Pancake House. It’s right across the street from The Petersen Village Inn. So delicious!!
